The New Product Design Engineer Supervisor leads and supports the development of innovative products from concept to production, ensuring designs meet performance, cost, and manufacturability requirements. This role collaborates with Marketing and Engineering Management to drive new product initiatives, assigns and oversees the work of NPD Engineers, and coordinates cross-functional efforts to maintain project timelines. The Supervisor provides technical guidance, conducts design reviews, evaluates materials and processes, and ensures compliance with specifications through testing and analysis.

Shift- Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm
Pay: $100,000 -$110,000
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Work in collaboration with Marketing and Engineering Management for New Product conceptualization.
- Assign and track the work of the NPD Engineers. Provide assistance and guidance as necessary. Coordinate tasks with other departments to maintain schedules. Complete annual performance appraisals.
- Candidate must be able to work on several projects at one time through changing priorities.
- Complete assigned projects from concept to production release.
- Provide cost estimates for materials, labor, and tooling.
- Generate Bills of Materials and coordinate Production Routers with Manufacturing.
- Investigation of new processes and materials.
- Producing and maintaining accurate project plans.
- CAD models and drawings for components and assemblies.
- Design Reviews - Release to Tooling, Release to Manufacturing.
- Specification documents, design analysis (tolerance, FEA, FMEA).
- Determine testing required to validate and verify product performance to specifications. Document test results.
- Coordinates engineering activities with purchasing and manufacturing and making recommendations for parts, materials and tooling.
- Must be able to provide technical support to Sales/Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality and Purchasing.

- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 5-8 years work experience.
- Design experience with connector and cable products is a plus.
- Mechanical Design Skills primarily, with a good understanding of Electrical design concepts.
- Knowledge of plastic and metal materials and their uses/applications.
- Understanding of injection molded plastic parts, metal screw machine parts, stamped rubber and metal parts, and cable.
- Experience with 3-D CAD modeling software (SolidWorks preferred) and FEA.
- Understanding of mechanical drawing requirements and proper application of dimensional and tolerance information.
- Working knowledge of the MS Office suite of products.
- Good project management skills.
- Strong verbal & written communication skills
