Director of Marketing and Business Development

 

ORGANIZATION: Friends of Switchpoint is a non-profit organization that has been serving those individuals, families and veterans experiencing poverty and homelessness since 2014. 

 

OUR MISSION:  To empower families and individuals in need by addressing the underlying causes of their poverty and providing each client with a personalized, comprehensive plan that supports them on their journey to self-sufficiency and the opportunity to contribute to the community.

Job Summary: 

The Marketing Director is responsible for developing, planning, and executing innovative marketing strategies and programs that drive foot traffic to physical locations, online traffic to websites, and improve customer awareness of our for-profit Switchpoint Industries businesses, such as Switchpoint Coffee Co, Rise Gardens, Stepping Stones childcare, Bed & Biscuits doggy daycare, and Worm Soil Farming, creating a self-sufficient system to funding our non-profit sector.  The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, self-starter, agile, and possesses both analytical and creative skills with the ability to work independently and cross functionally within the organization. They will define and execute strategies that drive brand awareness, support business development, and position our company as a leader in ending homelessness. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

·       Develop marketing strategies and campaigns that support the organization’s mission and goals 

·       Execute comprehensive marketing plans that utilize social media platforms, websites, and retailer programs to support marketing objectives. 

·       Coordinate merchant’s association marketing strategies including advertising programs. 

·       Implement successful marketing strategies across all channels and new and existing regions and oversee all associated execution efforts. 

·       Meet or exceed annual web sales goals. 

·       Leverages working knowledge of the consumer, category and brand to continually recommend business-building initiatives which deliver against the company's business and marketing objectives. 


        Brand Development: 

·       Drive continuous improvement and creativity across all external marketing efforts to maintain Switchpoint’s aesthetic, brand, and voice in the market. 

·       Increase social media presence and followers while maintaining the Switchpoint brand standards. 

·       Create compelling messaging and visual storytelling across all platforms. 

·       Develops and implements strategies and plans to maximize the profitability of assigned brands or portfolio; identifies potential for new segments, markets and consumers 


        Content Creation: 

·       Design, develop, and manage marketing collateral, including brochures, case studies, proposals, and digital content. 

·       Develop and maintain a social media influencer program. 

·       Work closely with Social Media function to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive social media strategy, including reporting and metrics. 


        Reporting 

·       Proactively and continually develop reports and feedback for the board, execs, and leadership on MBD activities, including activities completed and outcomes associated with the work. 

·       Leads the definition of marketing team outcomes and appropriate metrics. 

·       Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to stay informed of industry trends and advancements, ensuring our marketing strategies and initiatives are proactive and aligned with current market dynamics

Qualifications 

·       Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or another relevant field. 

·        At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in marketing management required, with at least 5 years in a nonprofit organization preferred 

·       Ownership mindset: You are organized, can drive high-level strategy, and can steer projects from start to finish. 

·       Collaborator and strong cross-functional influencer: You build relationships and rapport easily and have a record of accomplishment in gaining alignment with stakeholders and external partners. 

·       Proven success in launching and scaling consumer products. You have managed multi-million-dollar media budgets 

·       Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams

·       Critical thinker: You can solve problems and think strategically about business challenges. 

·       Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making. 

·       Proven track record of successful marketing management, including experience developing and implementing marketing strategies, managing social media, and overseeing marketing budgets 

·        Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills 

·       Effective communication and interpersonal skills 

·       Passion for the mission and work of the organization

Compensation

·       Wage range starts at $85,000 annually and caps at $95,000/annually 

·       Switchpoint offers a benefits package that includes Medical/Vision/Dental, Transportation Allowance, Paid Time Off, and 401(k) matching contributions.
