What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing Intern position at Sycuan?
Job Purpose:
The Marketing Internship program will allow participants an opportunity to learn the day-to-day operations of the Marketing department at Sycuan Casino Resort.
The participants will become engaged in both the marketing operations and advertising sides of the business. The structure of the program will consist of a rotational tour of the departments of emphasis: Loyalty Club, Player Development, Advertising, Media and Digital Marketing start. Upon completion the participants will have a working knowledge of how we build our brand, activate promotions, drive visitation work with strategic partners and database marketing.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Club Sycuan
Participant will work with Club Sycuan Training Specialist to learn the basics of the responsibilities of Club Sycuan, including new guest sign up, guest interaction and customer service.
Promotions and Special Events
Work to create a promotion every step of the way. This will include conceiving, strategizing, fulfillment, and execution.
Participant will support and work to fulfill casino floor promotions including concepting, strategizing, and budgeting.
Participant will learn the evolution of events and how to execute an event.
Player Development
Participant will receive an overview and explanation of the Player Development Team/Casino Host role to learn how hosts track guests’ casino activity and how they leverage complimentary services to build longstanding relationships.
Participant will learn how to Interact with guests and cater to their needs, keeping in mind the specific likes and dislikes of the particular guest.
Digital Marketing
Participant will receive an overview of the digital marketing department to learn how Sycuan leverages digital marketing and social media to create content in various platforms such as Instagram and Facebook.
Participant will learn emailing strategies, including copywriting, creative and list optimization.
Media
Participant will learn strategic planning and placement based on audience.
Participant will learn different advertising mediums:

Style Guide
Creation of an ad with collaboration of our in-house Creative Team
PR Communications
Participant will learn what voice we would like to present depending on the audience.
Learn about putting together press releases to get our voice out into the community, by use of copywriting and branding.
Advertising – Brand awareness
Participant will learn brand/logo Presentation including; conceptualize campaigns, target demographics, billboards, print, signage, media and strategic partnerships.
