What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vehicle and Cart Mechanic I position at Sycuan?
Job Purpose:
To repair mechanical vehicles on the property and keep accurate documentation records of all facilities vehicles.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Keeps carts and vehicles operational by routinely inspecting, repairing, or replacing broken or defective parts, performing preventative maintenance services including oil changes, tune-ups, electrical repairs, and brake servicing.
Maintains and organizes parts inventory by receiving and labeling ordered parts, placing parts on designated shelves, logging and accounting for received and used parts, analyzing parts logs to determine the frequency of use and need for parts replacement, and tracking owner’s manuals, warranty expiration dates, service bulletins and up-dating and re-ordering inventory as needed.
Maintains safe work and storage area by cleaning and organizing the garage, storing tools and materials, repairing or replacing old or broken tools following established procedures, and following established safety standards while using tools.

Education and Experience:
Essential:
High School Diploma, High School Certificate of Completion, or G.E.D.
Must be certified in diesel mechanics
4 years’ experience as an automobile mechanic or 2 years vocational training
2 years electric cart repair experience
California Driver’s License in good standing
Desirable:
Certificate in the repair of electric carts
Exposure to the casino, hospitality, and/or hotel industry
Skills and Knowledge:
Essential:
Working knowledge of electrical components
Ability to use testing and repair tools and equipment
Ability to perform preventative maintenance on gasoline, diesel, and electric vehicles
Ability to operate power tools
Ability to perform repairs and preventive maintenance
Ability to document and track assignments through a shop log or work order system
Ability to work with corrosive and toxic chemicals
Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
Ability to appear for work on time
Ability to stand, reach, crouch, kneel, and bend
Ability to communicate and read effectively in the English language
Ability to understand and follow verbal directives and written directions
Ability to interact effectively with guests and team members
Ability to maintain professionalism and composure
Ability to accept constructive criticism
