What are the responsibilities and job description for the After School Teacher position at Sylvan Learning Center?
Sylvan Learning Center at Whitestone offers after school and several enrichment programs for children from K through 5th grade. The programs runs from Monday to Friday, 2pm - 6pm. Sylvan also offer Personalized Tutor with the Individual Sylvan Sync Programs. It combines the best teaching and digital technology to provide a personal program unique to the child's needs. Teachers will be trained.
In addition, we are also looking for teachers/teacher assistant with art or Music background. Great for current Art students or recent BFA art major graduate.
Sylvan Learning Center at Whitestone is currently seeking after school teachers and weekend tutors.
This is an on-site position for the school year 2022 to 2023. The programs runs from Monday to Friday, 2pm - 6pm.
After School Teacher or Teacher Assistants will support K - 5th grade students with homework and Reading, Writing, and Math.
Job Requirements/Qualifications for After School Teacher / Tutor:
- At least 1 years of experience working with students from K-5th grade.
- Knowledgeable of Common Core NY State Standards for Math and ELA.
- Demonstrates strong classroom management skills.
- Experience with NYS Learning Standards, Curriculum, Lesson Planning
- Fingerprinted by the Department of Education require (will nominate)
- Self-starter, creative, and thrives under limited supervision.
- Demonstrated communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
