What are the responsibilities and job description for the Center Co-Director position at Sylvan Learning Center?
GENERAL SUMMARY
The Director is responsible for sales and managing the overall customer experience of the Center to achieve operation and education goals. He/she ensures that procedures are executed according to Sylvan standards. The Director manages and supports Center staff and serves as the principal point of contact for the Franchisee.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Directs the sales process at each stage of the customer lifecycle
- Directs the service process by managing the day-to-day operation of the Center using tools for operations management, education management, and communication.
- Monitors and tracks Center performance, revenues, expenses, and fee collection
- Conducts school visits to establish and maintain relationships with school personnel for partnership and marketing purposes
- Ensures adherence to established Sylvan operating standards with particular attention to student safety and well-being
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
- Four-year degree preferred
- Retail sales experience preferred; experience in the field of education is a plus
- Experience using Microsoft Office and other standard business applications and equipment
- Familiarity tablet computers
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet goals
- Self-starter who works independently with accountability and minimal supervision
- Strong customer service, consultative sales, and relationship-building skills
- Skilled in analyzing business metrics, problem-solving, and presenting to small groups
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with attention to detail and clarity
- Highly organized, adaptable, and able to manage competing demands effectively
- Team player with a results-driven mindset
- Able to work 12p.m.–8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and at least two Saturdays per month
