Symmetrio is recruiting an Electrical Engineering Manager for our customer, a global conglomerate in the medical device space. The Electrical Engineering Manager plays a dual role, balancing hands-on engineering responsibilities with leadership and managerial duties. This position oversees and guides a team of electrical engineers, firmware engineers, and electrical technicians, ensuring technical excellence and project execution. The manager is responsible for overseeing product development, system design, testing, and the transition to manufacturing, while also maintaining existing designs and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Candidates should either be based in the Melbourne, FL area or open to relocation. The salary for this role ranges from $140,000 to $160,000.
Responsibilities- Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical direction to the Electrical Engineering team.
- Supervise the design, development, and implementation of electrical and firmware components for electromechanical systems.
- Ensure technical execution in key areas such as product specification, circuit design, circuit analysis, PCB layout, test architecture development, and failure analysis.
- Maintain and improve released designs, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Establish and enforce design control processes to meet industry-specific compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct technical reviews of schematics, PCB layouts, cabling, circuit analysis, test plans, firmware designs, risk assessments, and final design documentation.
- Evaluate new technologies and system concepts for potential product development, refining system requirements as necessary.
- Design and develop electrical circuits, integrating analog, digital, communication, and power supply components.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical engineering and physics teams to foster high levels of cross-functional teamwork.
- Oversee the launch of new products into manufacturing, ensuring a smooth transition and long-term reliability.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, particularly in the development of embedded electromechanical systems.
- At least 3 years of experience in an engineering management or leadership role.
- Experience working within a quality-regulated engineering environment, preferably in the medical device sector or a similarly regulated industry.
- Strong ability to influence technical decision-making across engineering functions and business operations.
