Job Description
This position will be directly responsible for the coordination and initial evaluation/pre-underwriting of second lien mortgage loans to ensure compliance with company, secondary market, and government agency standards.
Responsibilities
- Verify and analyze loan documentation including income, credit, appraisal, and title, while ensuring compliance with established standards and regulatory compliance requirements
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in files
- Uphold responsibility for the delivery and communication of complete and accurate files to Underwriting and coordinate with Appraisal Review
- Ensure satisfactory completion of conditions for approval to close
- Monitor status of loans in pipeline on a regular basis to guarantee timely funding
- Assist in business development and company’s strategic initiatives
- Comply with company policies and procedures, regulatory requirements, and investor guidelines
- Care for non-public information (NPI) regarding borrowers and ensure all applicable internal NPI policies and procedures are followed and confidentiality of borrower information is maintained
- Communicate via phone and email both internally and externally with our customers
Qualifications / Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred
- Ability to identify and resolve issues with limited supervision
- Self-motivation with good interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work overtime as needed based on the needs of the team
- 6 months customer service experience preferred
