Senior Accounting Manager

Summary of Position:

The Accounting Manager, reporting to a managing partner, will be responsible for delivering excellence in the accounting, tax, and financial reporting functions of the company. This role will include responsibility for various functions, including accounting operations (AP/AR/Payroll), internal controls, general ledger management, financial reporting, sales tax, and treasury & cash management. The role will be a hybrid role including supervising two Accounting Specialists and performing daily activities alongside team members to complete the work in a timely and efficient manner. For clarity, this is not only a supervisory role.

Education and Experience:

• CPA License strongly preferred – equivalent proven accounting experience and management of accounting teams (8 years without a CPA) will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited university is required
• 5 years of experience with a proven track record of success, including supervising/managing a small team
• Strong knowledge and experience of accounting principles and operations
• Advanced skills in Excel –xlookups, pivot tables, and advanced use of formulas to aid in the manipulation, analysis, reconciliation, and reporting of financial data.
• Netsuite – experience working in the Netsuite ERP environment is desired.

• Strong problem-solving skills will be required to effectively communicate and resolve issues that arise in the workflow from order entry until final payment collection.
• Efficiently and effectively utilize advanced Excel skills to satisfy a variety of needs including data manipulation, analysis, reconciliation, and financial reporting.

Technical Skills:

• Microsoft 365 Suite – Teams, Advanced Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
• NetSuite platform – experience working in the NetSuite environment is a strong advantage for an applicant.

Ability to translate like experience required

• Banking fintech – Remote Check Deposit hardware and software, knowledge of banking websites including downloading financial information into Excel for manipulation, reconciliation, and use in updating the ERP as required.
• Security focus – understand the need and requirements of sharing financial information in a secured way.  Learn and understand our existing security protocols including software, procedures, and policies.  
• Taxing authorities’ online websites – knowledge of and experience related to sales tax filing, withholdings, fees, and other regulatory filings required
• Power BI – reporting and analytical tool – a strong advantage
