We’re searching for a Quality / Continuous Improvement Manager to assess, monitor, and enhance business performance for our organization, and oversee the Quality department.
To ensure success as a Quality and CI Manager, you should be a skilled communicator and be adept at business analysis and project implementation. An exceptional Quality/CI Manager will understand the latest management methodologies and embody top leadership principles and styles in their management duties.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
Reports to the VP of Operations and will operate between both plants in South Elgin, IL and Genoa, IL.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Enforce company policies and rules, and ensure compliance with the organization's Integrated (Quality, Environmental, and Safety) Policy.
- Train, develop, mentor, and manage all employees in the department, including conducting daily safety talks and completing training checklists.
- Assign and monitor tasks for quality inspectors, review daily inspection reports, and follow up on quality issues with relevant departments.
- Verify inventory and WIP for quality defects, issue corrective actions, and work with department supervisors on their completion.
- Ensure all measurement equipment is documented, labeled, calibrated, and provided to necessary departments.
- Assist with internal auditing and analyze quality metrics quarterly with the Plant Manager.
- Oversee the quality department and develop Continuous Improvement practices, including implementing lean manufacturing tools and strategies.
- Investigate shortfalls, issues, and complaints in business processes, and develop process enhancement strategies.
- Monitor staff performance, collaborate with stakeholders to enhance productivity, and communicate ideas to management.
- Stay up to date with developments in management and process optimization and provide guidance on Lean manufacturing techniques.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering or related field
- A graduate degree in business or MBA would be a plus.
- Five years' experience in process optimization, operations, or business management.
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles and methodologies
- Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt plus
- Proficiency in project management software
