Azure Cloud Engineer

Our client is seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to join their team in Washington, D.C. This role focuses on the architecture, planning, management, and support of Azure PaaS/IaaS environments. The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert, guiding cloud strategy and implementation across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, architect, and plan scalable solutions within the Microsoft Azure PaaS/IaaS ecosystem.
Serve as a technical expert and support resource for Azure architecture and design deliverables.
Translate business and technical requirements into secure, scalable, and reliable cloud solutions.
Present architectural concepts and cloud-based solutions to stakeholders at all organizational levels.
Guide decision-making by evaluating options, identifying trade-offs, and recommending optimal solutions.
Anticipate architectural shifts and lead the organization through successful transitions.
Build optimized, event-driven, elastic, and fault-tolerant cloud-based reference applications and infrastructure.
Lead the development of proof-of-concept solutions that demonstrate the value and feasibility of cloud technologies.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues within public and hybrid cloud environments.
Assess risk/reward scenarios and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in Azure architecture, support, and management within large-scale enterprise environments.
Demonstrated experience with cloud platform technologies such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, Oracle Cloud, etc.
In-depth knowledge of virtual application delivery technologies.
Experience with Linux, UNIX, and Windows for application deployment and management.
Proven track record of maintaining and documenting configuration changes across multiple environments.
Solid understanding of industry-standard system architecture principles and system management tools.
Background in designing, deploying, and supporting complex enterprise systems.
VMware and Windows system administration experience is a plus.
Clearance Requirement:
Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
