The Corporate Counsel for our Bold Product Suite, plays a vital role in supporting the legal team by managing contract review, drafting, and negotiation with customers, partners, and resellers. This position also involves legal research, contract database management, and general legal support.
Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with reporting tools, dashboards, and CRMs is essential, as is the ability to use technology to streamline legal workflows. The ideal candidate can balance legal risk with business needs and offer practical, creative solutions.
The Corporate Counsel is essential for understanding business needs and developing innovative legal solutions. This role involves collaborating with key stakeholders and sales representatives from the Bold Products team and the legal team to enhance sales while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The Corporate Counsel also streamlines contract workflows and manages contracts efficiently, minimizing legal exposure and optimizing output, thereby contributing to the organization's success and growth.
We are seeking candidates that are located within 50-miles of our office in Morrisville, N.C. as this is a hybrid position that will require at least one day worked on site per week.

Core Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including software licensing, Saas agreements, APO usage terms, partnership agreements, and reseller agreements.
- Own and manage all updates to Bold Product contracts and EULAs, ensuring alignment with the unique requirements of embedded, API-based, and SaaS products.
- Provide legal guidance on issues related to product rollout, including open-source usage, integration models, and third-party dependencies.
- Ensure compliance with applicable data privacy and security regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA, particularly as they relate to SaaS and API-driven services.
- Support the full contract lifecycle—including maintenance and renewal strategies—while improving legal operations to increase workflow efficiency.
- Conduct legal research and proactively identify regulatory risks associated with Bold's embedded and cloud-based products, helping to shape litigation-avoidance strategies.
- Translate complex legal requirements into clear guidance for cross-functional teams, effectively bridging the gap between legal and business needs.
- Manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously and provide timely, practical legal advice in a fast-paced, innovation-focused environment.
- Demonstrate strong interest and/or experience in technology law, particularly with respect to SaaS, APIs, and product-embedded licensing models.
Education Level: J.D. and bar certification in any state
Experience Level: Candidate dependent, preferably 5-years' experience, in house or with a law firm, handling software license and SaaS agreements.
Specialized Skills, Certificates, Licenses: Bar certification in any state. Excellent interpersonal skills. Data Privacy certifications are a plus. The ability to be humble.
