We are seeking a skilled Application Support Developer with a strong background in Database, Unix and Java (debugging and support) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Database, Unix and Support tools like Autosys, Splunk, cronjob etc. Candidate should be a strong team player and comfortable working as an individual contributor as well.

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Salt Lake City, UT is $95k - $100k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for application issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to business operations.
- Monitor application performance across various environments, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
- Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve application defects and performance issues.
- Manage database queries and optimizations in Sybase or similar databases to support application functionality.
- Participate in application deployments and upgrades, ensuring proper implementation and adherence to best practices.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including troubleshooting guides, system configurations, and process workflows.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement solutions that enhance application performance and user experience.
- Conduct root cause analysis on incidents, implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve support processes and services.
You are:
- 3 years of experience in application support, preferably within the financial services sector.
- Proficiency in Java programming and understanding of object-oriented design principles.
- Strong experience with Unix/Linux operating systems, including shell scripting and system administration.
- Hands-on experience with Sybase or similar relational database management systems (RDBMS).
- Familiarity with application monitoring tools and performance tuning techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience with financial applications or trading systems.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies and services.
