Our challenge
We are seeking a Commercial Banking Subject Matter Expert (SME) with extensive experience in North American commercial banking operations, lending processes, and digital transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial loan products, treasury & cash management, corporate banking solutions, and regulatory compliance while working closely with IT service teams to deliver technology-driven banking solutions for clients.
Additional Information
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $110k - $120k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
1. Commercial Banking & Lending Expertise
- Provide deep expertise in commercial lending, corporate banking, and treasury management.
- Guide the implementation and optimization of loan origination, underwriting, risk assessment, and servicing platforms, including ACBS, LoanIQ, and nCino.
- Assist in syndicated lending, structured finance, and asset-based lending strategies.
2. Digital Transformation & Technology Consulting
- Partner with IT service teams, architects, and developers to design and implement commercial banking solutions.
- Advise banks on cloud-based banking solutions, AI-powered automation, and Open Banking frameworks.
- Work on the integration of core banking systems with third-party applications, APIs, and fintech platforms.
3. Treasury & Cash Management Solutions
- Support banks in optimizing cash management, liquidity solutions, trade finance, and corporate payments.
- Provide insights on corporate cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and payment processing networks (SWIFT, ACH, Fedwire, RTP).
4. Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure alignment with Basel III, Dodd-Frank, FDIC, OCC, AML/KYC, and other financial regulations in commercial banking.
- Advise on risk mitigation strategies, credit risk models, and operational risk frameworks.
5. Stakeholder Engagement & Client Advisory
- Act as a trusted advisor to C-level executives, business leaders, and IT teams on commercial banking transformation strategies.
- Collaborate with product managers, technology vendors, and consulting partners to deliver tailored solutions.
6. Pre-Sales & Business Development Support
- Assist in go-to-market (GTM) strategies, RFP responses, and proposal development for commercial banking technology solutions.
- Contribute to thought leadership, whitepapers, and industry events to strengthen market positioning.
Requirements:
You are:
- 10 years of experience in commercial banking, corporate lending, or financial services consulting in North America.
- Expertise in commercial lending platforms (ACBS, LoanIQ, nCino) and core banking systems (FIS, Temenos, Finacle).
- Strong knowledge of corporate treasury operations, trade finance, cash management, and corporate payment systems.
- Experience working in IT services or technology firms delivering solutions for commercial banks.
- Familiarity with API-driven banking, cloud-based platforms, and AI-powered automation.
- Knowledge of financial regulations, compliance, and risk management frameworks in commercial banking.
- Excellent stakeholder management, consulting, and communication skills.
It would be great if you also had:
- Experience in large-scale digital transformation projects for commercial banking clients.
- Prior consulting or IT services experience with banking technology implementation.
- Understanding of corporate lending, syndicated finance, and working capital management.
