Our challenge
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Product Data Scientist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in SQL and Python, with expertise in machine learning and statistics. You will play a critical role in driving data-informed decisions and optimizing our GenAI services by defining success metrics, conducting experimentation, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.
In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Jersey City, NJ is $160K/year to $165K/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Define and Track Success Metrics: Establish and manage success metrics across our GenAI services, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs.
- Translate Business Needs: Collaborate with stakeholders to convert ambiguous business requirements into measurable data problems that can be addressed through analytical techniques.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Work closely with engineers and data scientists to define user workflows, evaluation sets, and queries that enhance our product offerings.
- Analyze Model Performance: Investigate model failures, ambiguities, and user logs to provide insights for improving prompts and retrievers, enhancing user experience and outcomes.
- Design and Implement A/B Tests: Develop and execute A/B testing strategies to assess the impact of product changes and optimize features based on user behavior.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation and analysis.
- Strong foundation in machine learning and statistical analysis, with the ability to apply these techniques to real-world problems.
- Experience with experimentation methodologies, including metric definition and A/B testing.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- A strong product sense, with an understanding of customer needs and market dynamics.
- Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) and their applications in product development is highly preferred.
