Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.

- We are seeking a motivated Bioprocess Associate Scientist (Downstream & Upstream) to join our manufacturing team
- The ideal candidate will play a critical role in supporting manufacturing processes through preparation, execution, and documentation of tasks related to protein purification and upstream production processes in compliance with cGMP guidelines.
- Prepare buffer solutions and execute chromatographic separations, filtration, and concentration operations.
- Perform media preparation, small-scale and large-scale upstream operations, and maintain analytical equipment such as VI-Cell, NOVA, and centrifuges.
- Dispense large and small quantities of raw materials with precision.
- Execute Clean-in-Place (CIP) and Steam-in-Place (SIP) procedures for product tanks.
- Operate and troubleshoot upstream and downstream processing equipment, including Cytiva purification platforms and Unicorn software.
- Work with hazardous materials under established safety protocols.
- Maintain high-quality, compliant documentation, including batch records, deviations, SOPs, and change controls.
- Ensure that all production activities are conducted in a safe, compliant, and timely manner.
- Support routine and non-routine bench work, instrumental analysis, and troubleshooting of processes and equipment.
- Collaborate effectively in a highly matrixed team environment, ensuring smooth transitions and communication between upstream and downstream operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific or engineering discipline.
- At least 1 years of direct experience in purification or upstream operations in a pilot plant or manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) regulations and standards; 1 years of cGMP experience preferred.
- Familiarity with protein purification processes and upstream operations (media prep, scaling, etc.).
- Proficiency in analytical and operational tools such as PLC/DCS/HMI systems.
- Strong computer literacy and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and troubleshoot within a multifunctional team environment.
- Experience in authoring, revising, and supporting SOPs, change controls, and deviations.
