JOB DESCRIPTION
We are a midsize consulting engineering firm in Kansas City, Missouri, seeking full-time plumbing engineers for in-office work. The role involves designing Mechanical and Plumbing Engineering systems for various projects, collaborating with internal / external teams, and performing calculations and reviews.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform calculations and design of plumbing engineering systems.
Collaborate with engineers and technicians to design and develop construction documents.
Provide technical info, assistance, and make recommendations as to the feasibility of certain systems or equipment and evaluate products for application.
Provide final plan checking and quality control on project deliverables.
Assist in updating specifications.
Contact various public utility company personnel to coordinate utilities for a project.
Check shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications. Respond to code comments and resolve permit issues with officials. Assist in answering questions from contractors and bidders.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
10 years of proven expertise as an engineer.
Previous experience in healthcare-related and multi-family design projects.
Experience in drafting in Revit.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.
Knowledge of engineering processes with hands-on experience using design and calculation software.
Understanding of engineering codes and safety standards.
Problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
