Job Summary
The Lab Supervisor will oversee the Food Safety and Quality Systems for the Clover Food Additives Lab, ensuring compliance and identifying areas for continuous improvement. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining training programs that ensure site personnel understand the requirements to maintain certifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Senior Quality Manager in the growth and development of staff, including collecting feedback and implementing ideas to enhance Food Safety at the site.
- Ensure compliance with Clover Food Safety and Quality Systems, initiating action to resolve Food Safety or Quality problems as reported.
- Serve as the key contact for audits and update all certifications as defined by standards.
- Oversee the development, implementation, review, and maintenance of the Food Safety and Quality Systems, specifically the SQF system.
- Communicate essential information to relevant personnel to ensure effective implementation and maintenance of the SQF system.
- Comply with SOPs, cGMPs, and safety programs.
- Perform HACCP and Food Defense tasks as needed.
- Assist with completing regulatory information requests as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in a combination of people leadership and working in a lab environment.
- Experience in microbiological testing in the food industry is preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment and maintaining GFSI and/or ISO 9001 standards.
- Proven food safety expertise in a manufacturing environment.
- SQF Certified Practitioner credential is strongly preferred.
