The Assistant Credit Manager position is accountable for assisting the department in the entire credit and collections process. Including assessment of credit worthiness of potential customers with the goal of optimizing sales while reducing company risk, monitoring AR performance and preparing accounts for legal action. The role is designed as a secondary support for the Director of Credit/Credit Manager.
Essential Functions
- Analyze and approve pending credit applications based on trade references and business/consumer credit reports.
- Monitor impending lien report, record liens and Notices of Non-Payment as needed for branches.
- Monitor and assist branches with advanced collection accounts as needed.
- Lien releases
- Negotiate payment plans with customers and monitor accounts to ensure payments are made as agreed.
- Prepare accounts to be sent to the legal.
- Review aging and impending lien reports with Branch Administrators on a weekly basis to ensure balances have been secured with lien rights and advise of other steps to take to collect outstanding balances.
- Monitor and address requests from branch and sales team for accounts to be activated or placed on hold. Including reviewing account notes for payment commitments and/or establishing contact with customer to bring account current to release pending orders.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.

Required Education and Experience
- Minimum 5 years collections experience in the construction industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong attention to detail, goal oriented
- Self-directed and excellent organizational skills
- Strong understanding of Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and Texas Construction Lien Laws.
- Bachelor's or associate Degree preferred
Military service will be considered in lieu of education/certification experience as applicable.

- The environment is consistent with that of an office environment, using a computer, telephone, and other office equipment. May encounter interruptions throughout the workday office environment.
Travel Required
- Minimal - travel may be requested by Credit Manager to the branch location.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer and telephone.
