Key Responsibilities:
Product Metadata Indexing & Copyediting
- Proofread and fact-check product descriptions and supporting metadata
- Ensure accuracy of key elements such as pricing, release dates, rights, availability, ASINs, taxonomy, and more
- Conduct quality assurance checks for data consistency and style adherence
- Maintain high standards while meeting daily editing quotas and prioritizing tasks
Editorial Support
- Edit, rewrite, or occasionally create product descriptions
- Research and incorporate favorable review blurbs into descriptions
Qualifications
- BA/BS or equivalent, preferably in the Humanities
- Minimum one year of professional proofreading, copyediting, and fact-checking experience in publishing
- Experience in a web-based publishing environment
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Excel
- Familiarity with SEO concepts and online research tools (e.g., Google, Goodreads)
- Avid consumer of digital media, including books, websites, blogs, and other content
