Your Mission:

As an Accountant on our team, you will play a critical role in maintaining the financial health of our organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and transparency in all financial reporting. Your work will support strategic decision-making, investor relations, and operational growth, allowing us to continue delivering exceptional service to our customers. By upholding strong financial processes and collaborating across teams, you will help drive the success of both our company and the pets and pet owners we serve.

What you will do:

• Lead the monthly and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with GAAP.
• Prepare and review external financial reports, including statements for investors and regulatory bodies.
• Manage bank reporting requirements and ensure compliance with financial agreements.
• Collaborate with FP&A teams to support financial planning and analysis efforts.
• Oversee fixed asset accounting, including tracking and reporting depreciation.
• Coordinate with external tax firms to support income tax filings and compliance.
• Handle sales tax filings and ensure adherence to state and local tax regulations.
• Support the financial audit process by working closely with external auditors.
• Manage insurance policies and related financial considerations.
• Oversee the preparation and filing of state annual reports to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements

What we are looking for:

• 3–5 years of accounting experience.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and journal entry preparation.
• Experience with accrual calculations and general accounting processes.
• Working knowledge of accounting principles and GAAP.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
