Manages staff at Bolingbrook location with responsibility to oversee the warehouse operations, and customer service. Ensure that the product is received, properly stored, pick packed and shipped. Oversee that incoming orders through the inside sales desk are entered and processed properly, and shipped. Develops and implements policies and procedures governing the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, equipment, and / or supplies. Supports the organization's supply chain strategy through maintenance of appropriate inventory levels and timely distribution of goods. Tracks inventory by performing physical counts and verifying information against warehousing systems. Ensures warehouse operations comply with regulations governing materials handling, storage, and distribution where applicable. Responsible for supervision of staff at the facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Responsible for the on-time production and delivery of product to customers which includes same day for UPS / Fed Ex and customer pickup. Measures shipping and production activity and performance and provides reports to management as needed. Ensures that there are appropriate levels of staffing in the production, warehouse and call center environment.
- Manages staff at Bolingbrook location including recruitment, disciplinary action, promotions, performance review and pay recommendations. Recommends hire and fire actions. Schedules warehouse employees and assigns duties. Serves in a backup capacity for inside sales and support services. Responsible for ensuring professional, prompt and courteous sales staff is scheduled and available to answer customer inquiries. Monitors call volume and provides reports to the CEO as needed.
- Works closely with the Manager of Sales on customer related issues and opportunities. Recommends initiatives for improving customer service, streamlining processes and improving throughput time.
- Approves customer discounts and or accommodations for instances outside of typical guidelines. Occasionally visits customers.
- Responsible for ensuring appropriate levels of inventory are available for production and customer needs. Monitors backorders and ensures they are filled within the business guidelines – usually right away through internal or external production or buyout.
- Through vendors, ensures the proper maintenance and repair of production equipment and general facility.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Business or related field required
6 - 8 years' experience in customer service management and or production including supervision
Ability to use a personal computer with proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word required
