Job Summary
Responsible for assisting the Chief Innovation Officer with establishing, implementing, communicating, executing and sustaining the company's strategic plan for product, platform, and technology. Provides leadership for a team and directs the intake, analysis, sequencing, and monitoring of the enterprise portfolio that is recommended by the new Horizontal Initiatives Council and adopted by executive leadership. Leads analysis of business opportunities and investments and monitors the external environment for trends and long-term outlooks.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Supports the Chief Innovation Officer in the development of the Company's long-term strategic plan, roadmap, and business growth initiatives pertaining to product, platform, and technology.
- Monitors the external environment for trends and long-term outlooks, threats and opportunities. Brings those trends to the Horizontal Initiatives Council for awareness and decision-making relative to enterprise plans.
- Leads complex evaluation and sequencing of business opportunities and investments including ROI and risk analysis, and ensures synergies with the Company's strategic vision.
- Supports business line and corporate services leadership with development of strategic initiatives; adds value by translating long-term plans into executable objectives and projects.
- Participates in and supports strategic planning exercises for executive leaders and their teams, including SWOT analysis and review of current position, industry outlook, investments needed in product, platform, and technology; ensures that individual plans are consistent with the master strategic plan. Leads Horizontal Initiatives Council in making key prioritization recommendations.
- Ensures clear, efficient, and timely communication between Horizontal Initiatives Council, executive leaders, and key stakeholder groups regarding roadmap, priorities, status, and plans.
- Maintains heavy involvement in cross-functional forums to vet new business initiatives, investments, and solutions, ensuring alignment with strategy and appropriate cross-functional collaboration.
- Directs the creation and oversees the execution of a consistent, sustainable, enterprise governance structure relating to product, platform, and technology priorities over multiple horizons. Increasingly moves planning cycles from annual to evergreen model to achieve greater visibility, efficient use of capital, and longer funding horizons.
- Executes the processes and tools for consideration, prioritization and sequencing of key enterprise strategic product, platform, and technology initiatives, including cross-organizational program governance and reporting.
- May be accountable for oversight of strategy, product, and program teams.
- Manages the annual performance management and merit processes for direct and indirect reports. Coaches and develops team members and builds a work environment where team members are engaged and feel a positive sense of achievement about their role in the company. Works closely with Human Resources regarding employee relations, compensation, training, posting and filling vacant positions and other Human Resources related matters.
- Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.

Minimum Education:
- Bachelors' Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management or a related discipline.
Minimum Experience:
- 10 years of financial services experience including strategic planning, change management, project management, and managing budgeting and planning processes with demonstrated professional growth and achievement in an organization of comparable size, business diversity, scope and complexity
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of banking, operational and support functions
- Strong financial acumen with analytical/quantitative skills, familiarity with one or more statistical/analytical tools and ROI models
- Proven high performer while operating in leadership role
- Ability to build effective, data driven executive level presentations, summarizing complex issues to highlight key takeaways
- Strong financial aptitude with demonstrated ability to perform complex analyses and create management insights
- Ability to work with management across the organization and create buy-in across multiple layers of stakeholders
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas and solutions in an organized and compelling manner
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex negotiations and direct activities of large multi-disciplinary teams
- Proficiency using word processing and spreadsheet software programs
