About the Role:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for the direct line management of Operational Colleagues. The core departments that make up Operations at SYR are Warehouse, Assembly, Pick and Pack and Dispatch. Other supporting departments include Production Admin, Perpetual Inventory. The Supervisor will provide the necessary support in delivering both the training and delivery of daily objectives, while also will be responsible for:
- Responsible for supervising a cross functional department, maximising the performance of the department to deliver the required service level.
- Support the Operations Manager in delivering Operational and Business objectives.
- Supervise and maximize the performance of the operation by leading the day-to-day activities, as well as additional projects to increase efficiency as/when required.
- Directly responsible for c.15 colleagues.
- Motivation, training and development of that workforce, executing against business requirements.
- Delivering a high-class service performance.
- Review daily & weekly statistics and send out information to the managers.
- Supervising the operation in accordance with business processes.
- Responsibility for all aspects of people/resource management and department performances, measured against challenging KPI’s.
- Maintain and develop efficiencies through continuous improvements.
- Ensure all staff training is completed to a high standard and in compliance with the companies’ Standard Operating Procedures.
- Identify development opportunities and carry out training of the team.
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to effectively run the operation day to day.
- Supervising staff including absence control and effective leadership to maintain motivation and staff morale.
- Consistent management of company policies & procedures, as well as disciplinary procedures and managing them to a high standard.
- Ensure compliance with all issues relating to Health & Safety, the Environment and Security.
- Management Information reports.
The job holder will also be required to work closely with other department supervisors and management. They must have an appreciation of the interdependencies between functional areas.
Skills, knowledge and experiance:
- General standard of education
- Supervisory / Extensive Team Leader experience
- Good communication skills – verbal and written
- A tidy and organised approach to work
- Willing and flexible in carrying out work duties assigned
- Flexible approach to working hours and prepared to work overtime on occasions.
- Some IT skills.
- The role requires a self-motivated, enthusiastic individual with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- An understanding and exposure to ‘Lean’ methodology would be beneficial in the role.
- Experience with WMS systems, particularly Sage X3/Datalinx would be beneficial in the role.
- Must have strong inter-personal, communication and organisational skills to enable the business to build towards achieving effective relationships and organization in all areas.

Standard working hours 07:00-15:30 On site Monday to Friday.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
