Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our dynamic team in Carmel, IN. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial management, accounting principles, and regulatory compliance. This role will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the company's growth.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and payroll.
- Develop and implement financial strategies and policies to support the organization's growth and objectives.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Files quarterly and annual reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
- Manage the budgeting process, including forecasting revenue and expenses.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations and accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
- Lead and manage a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and mentorship.
- Oversee the payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payment of employee wages and benefits.
- Manage risk and implement internal controls to safeguard the organization's assets.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial analysis and support decision-making.
Qualifications:
- BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Accounting Supervisor, chief accountant, or senior accountant
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures.
- In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Awareness of business trends.
- Familiarity with financial accounting statements.
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like FreshBooks and QuickBooks.
- Advanced MS Excel skills, including Vlookup and pivot tables.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
- Relevant certification (e.g. CMA or CPA) will be preferred
