What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Advisor position at Syracuse University?
The D'Aniello Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) Advisor will effectively support and coordinate advising and participant success strategies for online and / or installation program participants in non-credit online coursework. This position will provide support, coordination, and programmatic advising through telephone, email, and video chat to veterans, service members, and their families; will respond to requests for assistance related to coursework completion and certification exam preparation, employment, and other IVMF programs and services opportunities; and maintain appropriate documentation of online participant success efforts. The position is necessary to be able to provide a holistic and exceptional participant experience, aligning with the scale of the IVMF's training and certification programs. The Advisors are accountable for advising and supporting all assigned advisees seeking career advice while acting as a mentor in all aspects of the program. Advisors are responsible for all administrative functions for Advising Services and will propose ideas for additional resources and process improvements; further, Advisors support program leadership, as necessary.
