Job Description
The Manager of Video serves as a key leader within Syracuse University’s creative team. The Manager of Video will be responsible for both managing the video team and actively contributing to video production. This role requires hands-on expertise in shooting and editing, alongside leadership responsibilities to guide the team’s workflow and ensure strong processes for capturing and editing content.
The Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the video team under the guidance and leadership of the ED of Multimedia. This video team is responsible for advancing the Syracuse University brand by bringing it to life through effective, compelling and consistent multimedia storytelling and content generation. Oversees the end-to-end creation of dynamic multimedia as part of a larger content strategy that aims to galvanize target audience in service of advancing University goals and priorities.
Works collaboratively / in deep partnership with other marketing team members, to ensure storytelling is strategically oriented, coordinated and effective at achieving stated goals. Will help concept and partner with other members of the Division to conceptualize projects and bring them to fruition on time and on budget. This leader oversees both high-end productions, that are part of larger national campaigns or high-profile distribution plans, as well as ensures team members are available and deployed daily to advance quick-turn videos that highlight what is happening across the busy Syracuse University community.
Education and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years of experience developing strategic creative, multimedia programs.
- A minimum of 2 years leading teams or serving in a supervisory role.
- Portfolio to demonstrate multimedia excellence as part of broader campaigns that yielded tangible results.
