System One is seeking a Computational Fluid Dynamics Engineer for a long-term contract opportunity, with an onsite work model, supporting our client in Bellevue, WA. Exceptional non-local candidates, requiring a remote work model will be considered. In this role, you will support advanced nuclear reactor design options.
Responsibilities

Perform state-of-the-art CFD analysis in exploration of reactor architecture options including component selections, configurations, and sizing in support of pre-conceptual design of a first of a kind nuclear reactor system

Work with cross-disciplinary teams to analyze the thermal and mechanical design considerations for said reactor and its components

Provide supporting CFD analysis for diverse systems associated with the above reactor

Provide technical presentations on analyses performed to the broader team

Prepare informal and formal reports to document findings and make reasoned recommendations.
Ideal Background

10 yrs experience in nuclear, mechanical, or chemical engineering fields; other fields such as physics, applied mathematics, and aerospace engineering may be considered

Demonstrated expertise with a modern CFD tool (StarCCM , ANSYS FLUENT/CFX, M-Star, OpenFOAM, etc.)

Experience with heat exchanger design and analysis with a tool such at HTRI a plus

Expertise with one or more CAD modeling tools; SolidWorks preferred
