Title: DB2 DBA
ALTA is supporting a 6-month CONTRACT-TO-HIRE opportunity working 100% REMOTE. W2 Contract .Cannot support Sponsorship Now or in the future upon hire.

Responsible for the installation, configuration, upgrading, administration, monitoring, maintenance and security of the database(s). Includes the development and design of database strategies, system monitoring, improving database performance and capacity planning for future expansion requirements.
- analyze and code data and structure requirements for timely delivery
- write, review, test and implement database scripts
- provide support to application developers
- review and approve application stored procedures and queries
- document structure and maintain data dictionaries
- maintain, build, backup and restore multiple DB2 databases
- analyze and prioritize performance issues with available tools
- Assist application teams with tuning SQL’s for performance
- participate in an on-call rotation to provide assigned project support and after hours support
Education and Certifications:
- Qualified candidates have earned an Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. Must have 5 years of experience on the DB2 platform.
Required Skills:
- administrative experience with DB2 LUW V10 or newer
- knowledge of SQL including XML, triggers, functions and stored procedures
- knowledge of DDL and DCL
- knowledge of utilities and database command
- experience with Snowflake
- experience with Shell scripting
Desired Skills:
- experience with Erwin or other data diagraming tools
- experience with database tools such as Toad, BMC, OEM
- experience with large OLTP databases or data warehouses
- experience with Linux operating systems
- CICS experience
- Experience with using advanced features of DB2 (DB2
- Audit, masking, XMLS, MDC, OLAP etc.)
