Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and qualified Electrical Safety Officer to join our dynamic team at a national laboratory. This role is essential for ensuring that our unique electrical systems and safety protocols are strictly adhered to, promoting a safe working environment for all personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all electrical safety regulations and policies at the national lab.
- Conduct regular inspections of electrical equipment and systems to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Implement safety procedures and training programs aimed at minimizing risks associated with electrical operations.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams to identify safety needs and address concerns in real-time.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation on electrical safety procedures, incidents, and inspections.
- Provide on-site support and actively monitor compliance during backshift and weekend operations.
- Act as a primary point of contact for any electrical safety-related inquiries or incidents.
Qualifications:
- Formal qualification in electrical safety or a related field is required.
- Proven experience in electrical safety and hazard assessment, ideally in a laboratory or industrial setting.
- Q-Clearance preferred; however, candidates who can obtain a Q-Clearance will also be considered.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to train personnel in safety protocols.
