Financial Accountant

System One has partnered with an established institution located in Independence, Kansas, to assist them in finding a Financial Accountant to join their team. The primary function of this position to support financial operations and maintain accurate financial records. This full-time role offers a salary range of $50,000 - $55,000, based on experience and qualifications. The position reports directly to the Controller and requires strong accounting expertise, compliance knowledge, and financial analysis skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and records to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Manage and reconcile accounts, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.

• Assist in budget development, monitoring, and compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.

• Support audit coordination and prepare financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.

• Analyze financial data to provide strategic recommendations for financial performance improvement.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.

• Assist in tax filings, grant reporting, and financial data support.

• Collaborate with internal departments to streamline financial processes and enhance efficiency.

• Maintain financial policies and best practices while ensuring adherence to regulations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Minimum of two years of accounting experience 

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and fund accounting principles.

• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas and functions.

• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and organizational abilities.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and handle confidential information with discretion.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Salary : $50,000 - $55,000
