System One is currently seeking a  Product Development Engineer on a 12 month contract position located in Birmingham, AL.

Product Development Engineer Responsibilities: 

• Manage and coordinate various aspects of project development. This includes project planning, design, budgeting, and execution, with a focus on ensuring that projects are completed successfully and in accordance with established quality and time standards.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and requirements.
• Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to evaluate project viability, potential risks, and return on investment.
• Oversee the design phase, working with engineers and designers to create detailed project plans, specifications, and blueprints.
• Allocate resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to ensure efficient project execution.
• Monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and make adjustments to stay within budgetary constraints.
• Implement quality control measures to ensure that project deliverables meet the required standards and specifications.
• Identify potential project risks and develop risk mitigation strategies to address challenges and maintain project progress.
• Ensure that projects adhere to all relevant regulations, permits, and legal requirements.
• Maintain open and transparent communication with project stakeholders, including clients, team members, and contractors.
• Monitor project progress, identify any delays or issues, and take corrective actions to keep projects on schedule.
• Prepare and deliver regular project status reports to management and clients.

Product Development Engineer Requirements: 

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• 5-10 years (level 2) or 10-15 years (level 3) of experience in project development, with a proven track record of managing successful projects.
• Strong project management skills, including the ability to create and manage project plans, budgets, and timelines.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
• Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a team. 

Duration: 12 months 
Location: Birmingham, AL 
Pay Rate: 
$60 (level 2)
$65 (level 3)
