Job Overview:
System One is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer to support a cutting-edge project in advanced nuclear reactor technology. The Resident Engineer will oversee and coordinate scope, schedule, and technical integration for safety systems, non-safety systems, and simulator project coordination. Additionally, they will collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, licensing, safety analysis, and probabilistic risk assessment (PRA) teams to ensure project success.
Responsibilities

Oversee vendor design scope and ensure alignment with project goals.

Act as the primary communication link between vendors, plant design oversight, and stakeholders.

Support vendor project management by resolving scope and schedule issues.

Ensure technical alignment on plant design strategies and licensing applications.

Monitor vendor performance, including budgeting, staffing, and progress tracking.

Identify risks, propose mitigation strategies, and provide weekly reports to senior management.

Manage subcontractors, vendors, and partners to ensure seamless integration.
Qualifications

15 years of design/project management experience in large utility-grade projects, preferably nuclear.

Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in technical or project management roles.

Experience in Simulator Development, I&C Engineering, or Digital System V&V preferred.

Familiarity with I&C-related industrial codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NRC DRG 2021, NEI 18-04, IEEE 603, NUREG 0711).

Strong communication skills to convey complex engineering and design issues.

Experience in nuclear quality environments (10 CFR 50, Appendix B compliance preferred).

Ability to travel frequently for vendor oversight and stakeholder meetings.

Expertise in nuclear plant design coordination, including licensing and SSC classification.

Proven ability to lead cross-functional design teams.
