Senior OT Systems Analyst Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage OT manufacturing systems projects from initiation through deployment.
- Coordinate project activities including requirements gathering, vendor evaluations, system design, testing, documentation, implementation, and support.
- Create detailed project documentation outlining benefits, costs, timelines, and key stakeholders.
- Manage project budgets, track actuals, and provide regular reporting on status and financials.
- Understand and contribute to OT architecture involving Ignition DAQ, PLCs, SCADA, and related infrastructure.
- Evaluate technical solutions and perform vendor comparisons, making informed recommendations.
- Collaborate with business and IT teams to build and maintain project schedules, mitigate risks, and ensure successful delivery.
- Create technical documentation, including functional and technical specs, data flow and network diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials.
- Stay current with emerging OT technologies and trends to continually drive innovation and process improvement.
Senior OT Systems Analyst Principal Duties and Essential Functions
- Engage with business units, plant operations, and functional groups to understand and document functional requirements.
- Lead cross-functional project teams to develop efficient, scalable solutions aligned with business goals.
- Maximize the use of available technologies and standardize processes to improve manufacturing operations.
- Define and secure necessary project resources; manage timelines using project tracking tools.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across the Manufacturing Systems team, IT, and business partners.
- Support OT and supply chain-related applications including control systems, labeling, desktop computing, and network infrastructure.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of OT systems and architecture, including troubleshooting, risk mitigation, and coordination of multi-team issue resolution.
- Champion organizational core strategies, drive continuous improvement, and execute projects with a sense of ownership and urgency.
Senior OT Systems Analyst Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or Business—or equivalent work experience.
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in OT/Manufacturing systems.
- Demonstrated success managing small to medium-sized IT/OT projects.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
- In-depth knowledge of OT architecture, including Ignition DAQ, server/network infrastructure, cybersecurity, and segmentation strategies.
- Experience with developing SOPs, process mapping, and documentation.
- Familiarity with industrial control system technologies (e.g., Rockwell, Ignition).
- Willingness to travel up to 35% as needed.
- Availability for planned and on-call support outside normal hours.
- Understanding of OT/IT convergence and security standards (e.g., IEC 62443).
Senior OT Systems Analyst Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the poultry, beef, pork, or food & beverage industry.
- Background in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of Ignition, SCADA, and PLC systems.
- Familiarity with OT architecture from plant floor devices to enterprise-level SCADA systems.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams across IT and business units.
- Understanding of NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) and NIST SP 800-82.
