S3 Inc. is rapidly growing and is seeking a Corporate Controller who manages the overall direction and coordination of the day-to-day functions of the F&A Department.
This is not a teleworking position. Duty site is 615 Discovery Drive, Huntsville, AL 35806.
Military experience is a plus.
Position Description:
Senior Controller- Manages the overall direction and coordination of the day-to-day functions of the F&A Department. Supervises the F&A staff performing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, billing, and general ledger functions using Deltek Costpoint, for S3 and each of the subsidiaries; some subsidiaries' accounting functions are performed using Quickbooks.
Must be expert level with Deltek Costpoint.
- Manages day-to-day operations of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoice/billing, payroll, fixed assets, and general accounting.
- Manages the company’s use of DBA reports and inquiries.
- Manages general ledger accounts and subsidiary accounts’ reconciliation. Prepares for the new year including setting up accounting and payroll calendar and making necessary changes to orgs and accounts.
- Responsible for the budgeting process and indirect rates structure of the company for the current year and forward pricing rates.
- Responsible for calculating and/or reviewing forward pricing rates within proposals using financial forecasting methods.
- Reviews and updates company accounting policies and assists other departments in updating policies that are indirectly related to the F&A Department.
- Submits the IFF fee for GSA. Plays an integral role in closing the accounting records for the year and with other accounting staff in the preparation and review of monthly financial statements.
- Coordinates staffing requirements for different financial audits, such as tax audits, financial statement audits, and DCAA audits.
- Updates financial statement users with audited financial statements. As needed, research risk issues concerning DCAA, payroll, liability, and other financial issues.
- Requires senior-level skills with Deltek Costpoint software for general ledger, accounts payable, time and expense, and expense reimbursements.
Education Required:
- Bachelor of Science in Finance and Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent experience.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
Experience/Skills Required:
- Qualified candidates should have twenty years of progressively responsible experience for a major company of 800 employees.
- Minimum of eight years of Federal contractor accounting experience.
- Candidate should have eight years of Deltek Costpoint experience. QuickBooks experience is a plus.
- Accounting experience with subsidiaries is a plus.
