Low Voltage Communications Technician

Job Summary:

Systematic Technologies is seeking experienced low voltage technicians skilled in the installation, testing, and troubleshooting of various types of systems including structured cabling and security systems. This is a construction position, not an IT position.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· CAT5e and CAT6 copper solution installation.

· Fiber optic cable solution installation.

· Installation of Security systems.

· Pulling cables, fire stopping, dressing cables, and labeling to industry standards.

· Terminating CAT5e jacks, CAT6 jacks, coaxial and fiber optic connectors.

· Accurately testing copper and fiber optic cables to industry standard utilizing appropriate test equipment.

· Troubleshooting and repairing copper and fiber optic cables.

· Read and understand blueprints to determine closet and equipment layout.

· Manage up to 6 person crews

Requirements:

· Minimum 4 years of experience installing copper and fiber optic cabling systems including staging materials and planning the execution of work, pathways, TR build-out, pulling cable, terminations (fiber and copper), testing and troubleshooting.

· Experience managing others.

· Read and understand blueprints to determine closet and equipment layout.

· Experience in structured cabling and security systems.

· BICSI Installer/Technician certification highly desired.

· Minnesota Power Limited License (PLT)

· Ability to work extended hours (overtime) as needed.

· Reliable daily travel to work-sites.

· Must be able to work safely following company policy/procedures.

· Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, as necessary.

· Ability to climb ladders, stand for extended periods, and work in aerial lifts.

· Comfortable with, and capable of, working in open construction environments.

· NICET certification is a plus

• Excellent Hand and Power Tool Skills, knowledge of basic test equipment (multi-meter, toner, etc.).
• Valid Driver's License and the ability to travel as needed.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
