Job Title: IBM AS400 Administrator
Location: Providence RI
Duration: 12 Months
Position Overview: The IBM AS400 Administrator and will manage, administer, and give ongoing support for two AS400 systems containing 3 LPARS (Production, UAT, Development) each.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain and upgrade IBM iSystems (i9's) and HMC infrastructure
- Perform PTFs and firmware upgrades all iSeries and HMC infrastructure
- Fully manages disaster recovery plan including periodic testing
- Monitors and report on all IBM iSystems and HMC infrastructure for errors, failures, and security issues
- Research and resolve systems issues
- Maintain, monitor and report on daily and system backups along with Replication/DR processes
- Manages AS400 security policies to comply with IRS Pub1075 and state standards
- Manages AS400 user and device configuration and assist with user management
- Manages installation, and configuration of AS400 software applications including third party software and system management tools
- Maintain system journaling of databases
- Assist with client emulation configuration and connectivity
- Manages security and networking interconnectivity between systems
- Generate/Manage certificates for iSeries systems
- Assist the Infrastructure and Application Teams
- Performs other duties as assigned
