What are the responsibilities and job description for the Microbiology Lab Technician (3rd Shift) (Food Science) position at Systems Ally?
Shifts: Sunday-Wednesday 10pm - 8:30am Wednesday-Saturday 6pm-4:30am
Summary:
- Will assist a daily team of Technicians by collecting samples, test in-process samples, and finished samples.
- Media making
- Daily water collecting and testing.
- Will make and record observations.
- Preform simple calculations.
- Help in support functions; stocking and distributing supplies, collecting, washing, and storing glassware.
- Other tasks as needed.
Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to multitask
- Aseptic technique
- Microbiology background
- Previous lab experience
Education:
- Associate degree with at least 2 years lab experience (experience can be college lab work).
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or Food Science straight from college.
- Manager will consider candidates graduating soon.
Additional:
- 0-2 years relevant experience.
- Willing to take a recent grad or soon to graduate.
- Master’s degree is overqualified.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
