Responsibilities:
- We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated scientist at the Scientist II/Sr Scientist I level to join our Immunology Department.
- The successful candidate, with a demonstrated ability to work in a matrix environment, will work to develop in vitro cellular models and related assays relevant to multiple projects in Immunology.
- We work at the interface between engineering and biology, and the successful applicant will join a team working on implementation of micro physiological systems (organ-on-chip) and other complex in vitro models for drug discovery programs.
- The scientist will be focused on developing and implementing complex 2- and 3-dimensional (3D) models, including micro physiological systems (organ-on-chip), in vitro models.
- The candidate will apply their foundational cell biology knowledge and will bring to the team experience in multi-modal in vitro assays and will generate data to provide information to enable strategic decisions.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's Degree with 5 years of experience or PhD degree with 0 years of experience in Cell Biology, Biochemistry or related fields.
- Hands-on experience in primary mammalian cell and tissue culture.
- implementing complex 2- and 3-dimensional (3D) models, including micro physiological systems (organ-on-chip), in vitro models
- Experience in applying biology knowledge to complex in vitro models, such as organoids and micro physiological systems.
- Expertise in relevant cellular/molecule functional assays (plate-based immunoassays, FACs etc.) and cell-based imaging with minimal supervision.
- Hands-on experience with wide-field and confocal microscopy
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems
- Knowledge and understanding of statistical analysis
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $44.00 - $46.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
