Position Summary:
The Machine Tool Operator is responsible for operating a range of machining equipment to produce components for manufactured products. The role requires knowledge of CNC set-up instructions and programming, as well as proficiency in using various gauges and measurement tools to ensure accuracy and quality. The operator must work according to work orders, engineering drawings, and material specifications, while maintaining equipment and tooling inventory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate various CNC machines, lathes, drill presses, and CNC milling machines to manufacture components.
- Perform machine set-ups, tool changes, tool offsets, and minor maintenance as needed.
- Utilize CNC set-up instructions and programs where applicable.
- Interpret work orders, engineering drawings, and material specifications to determine machining requirements.
- Maintain and inspect fixtures and tooling, reporting any damage to the supervisor or team lead.
- Ensure adequate inventory of tooling based on established minimum inventory levels.
- Cross-train on different tasks within the department.
- Work overtime as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of six months of experience working in a machine shop using manual and CNC machines preferred.
- Experience in the fluid power industry and/or manufacturing environment preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
