The Legal Assistant – Tax, Trusts, and Estates provides comprehensive administrative support to the Tax, Trusts & Estates Practice Group. Primary responsibilities include managing date-driven tasks, scheduling, and editing legal documents. This role is essential for maintaining efficiency within the practice group, ensuring high-quality work, and meeting critical deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and manage calendars for attorneys, including meetings and deadlines.
- Edit, proofread, and format estate documents with a high level of accuracy.
- Track and manage due dates using specialized software.
- Maintain accurate timekeeping records and submit timely reports.
- Accept ownership of assigned projects and manage daily and weekly tasks efficiently.
- Uphold strict confidentiality while managing sensitive information.
- Assist with client correspondence and communication.
- Provide additional administrative support as needed to facilitate workflow within the practice group.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in a fast-paced office environment, preferably in a legal or professional services setting.
Special Requirements:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Outlook.
- Experience with software programs for tracking due dates is a plus.
- Ability to work in-person during standard business hours.
