Job Summary:
As an Associate Packaging Designer, you will be an integral part of the design team, helping to create innovative, visually appealing, and functional packaging for a range of products. You will collaborate with business development managers, brand teams, and external vendors to bring concepts to life, ensuring packaging meets both aesthetic and functional requirements while aligning with the company’s brand identity. Your role will be critical in maintaining brand consistency, supporting product development, and staying ahead of packaging trends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and creation of new packaging concepts from initial ideas through to final designs while managing multiple deadlines.
- Contribute to brainstorming sessions and refine ideas to create visually compelling packaging solutions.
- Influence and communicate packaging strategies to cross-functional partners to ensure designs align with brand guidelines and maintain consistency across all product lines.
- Work with the brand design team to ensure brand guidelines are being met on final packaging.
- Collaborate with other members of the design team, marketing, product development, and suppliers to meet project requirements and deadlines.
- Work with internal and external partners to arrange photo shoot needs.
- Stay up to date on packaging trends, materials, and innovations in the design industry.
- Assist in researching competitor products and packaging for market insight.
- Assist in creating prototypes and mockups of packaging for internal reviews and testing, ensuring the design is functional, manufacturable, and cost-effective.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Graphic Design, Brand Design, or a related field.
- Experience in packaging design, graphic design, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Special Requirements:
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Knowledge of packaging materials, print production processes, and industry standards is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong creative and conceptual thinking skills with an eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with industry trends, packaging sustainability, and innovative materials.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability to evolving project needs.
Additional Desired Characteristics:
- Experience with 3D rendering software for packaging design is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
