Context :

In Saudi Arabia, SYSTRA has been ever present for more than 20 years and continues to expand and play its part in helping the Kingdom achieve its 2030 vision. With 400 employees SYSTRA is involved in many of the Kingdoms iconic projects.

As our business continues to grow, we are currently seeking a Business Line Director - Property & Buidings to join our business. The Business Line Director for Property & Buildings will have a leadership role in the growth and development of SYSTRAs Property & Buildings portfolio across Saudi Arabia. Overall responsibility for project delivery success in his sector as well as the development and growth of dedicated staff under his business unit in coordination with his project Directors / Managers.

Missions / Main Duties :

  • Developing KSAs knowledge base and identifying strategic growth opportunities
  • Lead the business development by identifying, pursuing and capturing strategic opportunities that are crucial to developing the business beyond its current offering;
  • Ensure timely, quality ,and cost effective project delivery;
  • Ensure Business Line performance by achieving business plan targets;
  • Championing innovation and demonstrating technical leadership; and
  • Working closely with the KSA CEO on potential M&A targets which would strengthen the offering, and leading integration once target has been secured.

Financial Performance

  • Ensure financial performance by achieving business plan targets through winning work, and identifying and implementing operating efficiencies within the Property & Buildings market sector.
  • Provide support to the KSA operation in cash collections and working capital management, as appropriate.
  • Review staff utilization, competence and quality product delivery and ensure that necessary changes are implemented to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Project Delivery

  • Promote and enhance the KSA profile through innovative solutions, thought leadership and active participation with the clients and stakeholders in the project delivery process.
  • Review the project delivery process within the Property & Buildings market sector, and ensure that effective work planning and project control systems are being implemented.
  • Review with the KSA CEO and COO the technical and financial performance of the Property & Buildings market sector projects on a regular basis, and ensure that necessary measures are being implemented to ensure profitable performance.
  • Business Development

  • Lead strategic business development activities by identifying, pursuing and capturing strategic Property & Buildings opportunities that are crucial to developing the KSA business beyond its current offering.
  • Act as a primary focal point regarding KSA Property & Buildings Pursuits.
  • Prepare the KSA Property & Buildings strategic plan, in collaboration with the KSA CEO and COO, and ensure alignment with the overall strategic planning process.
  • People

  • Lead strategic recruitment as project required and coordinate with HR / Talent in development of strategic recruitment list and maintenance of KSA Resource Management Plan
  • Support HR in the management of resources and redeployment where applicable across the region and globally.
  • Ensure engagement and continuous development of staff within the Property & Buildings & market segment, report annually on the performance of staff, and recommend promotion / salary increase or otherwise, in collaboration with the CEO, COO, and HR.
  • Personal Development

  • Demonstrate a positive and growth-oriented approach to leadership - building on strengths and provide coaching for direct reports.
  • Profile / Skills :

  • Minimum qualification of a Bachelors degree in the field of Architecture, Engineering or Construction Technologies with focused 20 years minimum experience in a leadership role in PMO, PMC, CM and CS consultancy service sectors in the Middle East.
  • Self-innovated, a leader, and able to work under no supervision in a heavy workload environment. This will be beside a quality sense of defining management and administrative problems, collecting appropriate and related data to establish solutions.
  • Advanced knowledge of industry practices, regulatory agency requirements and industry standards, specifically in KSA.
  • Fluency in English required, proficiency in Arabic a plus.
