Quality Inspector

Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in auditing our quality management system and participating in continual improvement projects, aiming to elevate Sytech’s product quality, productivity, and team performance.
**This is a full-time position, overtime and Saturday shifts can be expected as business needs fluctuate. **
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Perform comprehensive and meticulous inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products against specified quality standards and technical drawings.
- Utilize a variety of inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to measure dimensions and tolerances accurately.
- Record and analyze data from inspections to identify trends or recurring issues in manufacturing processes.
- Utilize Lean Six Sigma tools like DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) to analyze manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Lead or participate in Kaizen events to streamline workflow, reduce waste, and improve process efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and monitor their effectiveness over time.
- Champion the 5S methodology (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) in the workplace to create a clean, organized, and efficient environment.
- Develop and maintain visual management systems to enhance communication and workflow efficiency.
- Identify, document, and segregate materials and products that do not meet specified criteria.
- Work closely with production teams to analyze root causes of non-conformities and recommend corrective actions.
- Discuss inspection findings with production teams and management to provide actionable insights.
- Assist in developing and updating inspection criteria and procedures to continually enhance quality standards.
- Support internal and external audits of the quality management system to ensure compliance with standards like ISO 9001.
- Participate in cross-training initiatives to enhance team versatility and resilience.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, where feedback is actively sought and valued to foster team development and high performance.
Knowledge - Skills - Abilities
Technical Knowledge
- General knowledge of quality inspection methods and standards in a manufacturing setting.
- Understanding of quality management systems, such as ISO 9001.
- Experience in participating in quality system audits and maintaining quality documentation.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and report generation.
- Knowledge and experience in leading or participating in Kaizen events is desirable.
- Familiarity with 5S methodology and its application in a manufacturing environment.
Skills
- Skilled in using various measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and gauges for precise measurements.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret inspection data and identify trends.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to determine root causes of non-conformities and suggest effective corrective actions.
Abilities
- Solid understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles and methodologies.
- Ability to apply tools like DMAIC for process analysis and improvement.

- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and manufacturing drawings.
Education & Experience
- 2-3 years of Quality Assurance/Control experience, preferably in an ISO 9001 production environment.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associate degree (preferred)
or combination of technical training and experience considered.
Proficiency in basic math with verbal and written communication skills required to report findings and interact with team members.
Environmental Exposure
- Manufacturing metal fabrication environment.
- Confined spaces, high noise levels, moving objects such as machinery, forklifts, and carts.
- Exposure to hot or cold temperature when working in areas of the building that cannot be temperature controlled (especially during summer months).
- Contact with metals, lubricants, and solvents.

Pay $19.50 - $24.00
