Job Summary:
T&C Stamping, Inc. is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tool and Die Maker to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, building, repairing, and maintaining precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures used in our production processes. This position is located in Athens, AL with an established family-owned company.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, sketches, models or descriptions
- Visualize product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts
- Compute dimensions, plan layout, and determine assembly method and sequence of operations
- Measure, mark, and scribe metal stock for machining
- Set up and operate manual and CNC machines including lathes, mills, grinders, and EDM machines
- Fabricate new tools and dies to precise specifications
- Perform repairs, modifications, and maintenance on existing tooling
- Inspect finished tools/dies for defects and ensure compliance with specifications
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve tool design and functionality
- Maintain accurate records of tool builds, repairs, and preventative maintenance
- Adhere to safety standards and maintain a clean, organized work area
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or apprenticeship preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Tool and Die Maker
- Proficient in machining techniques and the use of measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience with progressive dies a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
