Job Summary:
We are seeking a versatile Plant Operator to join our team. The Plant Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining equipment in the pellet mill, monitoring quality and production parameters, and operating loaders and forklifts as necessary.
Duties:
- Operate and monitor plant equipment and parameters to ensure safe and efficient production of wood pellets
- Conduct routine inspections of plant systems to identify and resolve issues
- Collect and analyze samples for quality control
- Perform basic maintenance tasks on equipment
- Utilize automation control system to manage plant operations and intervene in any upset situations
- Maintain accurate records of plant operations and data collection
- Monitor and adjust feed rates as needed
- Respond to alarms and emergencies in a timely manner
Experience:
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:
- Experience in industrial manufacturing, power generation or forest products processes
- Knowledge of automation control systems used in plant operations
- Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data accurately
- Mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance and process flow understanding
- Capacity to troubleshoot situations and make sound decisions under pressure
- Experience working with wheel loaders is a plus
