Objective
The Logistics Manager is tasked with overseeing the inventory of physical assets and managing the preventive, unscheduled, and general maintenance of all equipment. The Logistics Manager will maintain an adequate inventory of repair parts and supplies and oversee and monitor the monthly maintenance budget allocated for equipment.
Essential Functions
- Small Tool Tracking and Inventory: Ensure precise tracking and documentation of small tools
- Technical Operations: Employ software tools such as Fleetio and ComputerEase for effective management of inventory, processing purchase orders, invoices, and generating reports
- Equipment Inspections: Conduct routine inspections to maintain optimal equipment performance
- Operator Training: Facilitate walk-around inspections and provide training for specific equipment operations
- Manufacturer/Vendor Relations: Serve as liaison with vendors including CAT and TEC, to ensure efficient communication and resolution of issue
- Cost Analysis: Monitor costs associated with each asset and track operational hours, identifying worn items, and offering recommendations for repair or replacement
- Strategic Budgeting: Collaborate with teams to forecast future requirements, including the acquisition of new equipment and large tools
- Preventative Maintenance: Supervise preventative maintenance technicians, schedule maintenance activities, and order necessary parts
- Regulatory Compliance: Manage permits and other regulatory documentation to ensure compliance with applicable regulations
Minimum qualifications :
- Proven experience in logistics, operations, or a related field
- Familiarity with Fleetio and ComputerEase or similar software preferred
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication abilities to work across teams and with external partners
- Technical aptitude for heavy equipment maintenance and inspection processes
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook

Supervisory Responsibility This position entails the management of preventative maintenance technicians and the indirect supervision of additional shop personnel.
Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds.
