Overview
For all positions: The associate must be able to demonstrate they can perform tasks listed within a 90 day period in that position.
Responsibilities
Level I:
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Frequently stand and walk. Sitting, using hands to lift or move, reaching with hands and arms.
- Work in either a refrigerated or unconditioned environment.
- Stay up-to-date on all Computer Based Training (CBT)
- Follow the Company’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, and Code of Ethics, as well as all material handling, dock and security safety.
- Comprehend and follow verbal instructions, written short correspondence and memos.
- Effectively present information in writing, one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
- Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of base mechanical and electrical systems.
- Follow directions for basic assembly and repair of equipment.
- Work with other maintenance technicians on small projects and rebuilds.
- Work with cutting and machining fluids, solvents, lubricants and other hazardous chemicals using appropriate safety controls.
- Complete paperwork for check lists, work orders, and other required documentation.
- Work in various environments including, but not limited to, production, buildings and grounds.
- Download, start and perform daily workload in the absence of a Lead or Supervisor.
- Work off shift hours, overtime and be on-call as needed.
- Additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned by a Lead and/or Supervisor.
Level II:
- All responsibilities listed at Level I.
- Operational knowledge of all production equipment in assigned area.
- Interpretation of simple drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Troubleshoot and repair majority of mechanical equipment in assigned area.
- Troubleshoot and repair basic 3 phase electrical components and control voltage problems.
- Stick or tig weld small repairs on equipment.
- Perform Preventive Maintenance tasks according to schedule.
Level III:
- All responsibilities listed at Level II.
- Participate in the Company’s Plant Safety Committee.
- Operational knowledge of all production equipment.
- Interpretation of complex drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Troubleshoot and repair all mechanical equipment in assigned area and basic 3 phase electrical equipment, components and control voltage problems.
- Troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) controlled equipment using computer software.
- Stick or tig weld repairs on equipment.
- Work independently on maintenance projects including new equipment installs and rebuilds.
- Fabricate or modify support components of equipment.
- Additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned by a Lead and/or Supervisor.
Qualifications
Level IV:
- All responsibilities listed at Level III.
- Troubleshoot and repair all production equipment, both mechanical and electrical.
- Troubleshoot advanced PLC problems by means of computer software including Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Software (AB RS) logics and other plant software.
- Lead maintenance projects including new equipment installs and rebuilds.
- Demonstrate advanced fabrication skills and sanitary welds
- Additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned by a Lead and/or Supervisor.
Level V:
- All responsibilities listed at Level IV.
- In-depth knowledge of Bay Valley Foods (BVF) production equipment and infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and repair Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC), ammonia and wastewater systems.
- Lead maintenance technicians in absence of maintenance supervisor.
- Additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned by a Lead and/or Supervisor.
