GENERAL DESCRIPTION : The Director of Finance will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. The candidate will be overseeing all accounting functions such as ledger accounts, financial statements, and cost control systems. The position manages the company’s financing processes, including modeling, deal structuring, debt procurement, debt management, forecasting and performance analysis. Additionally, the Director of Finance will be responsible for managing equity raises for projects and overseeing the investor relations. The Director of Finance is directly involved in complex real estate development transactions and will be the key player in coordinating and synthesizing information for the cross-functional team responsible for securing, closing, and executing these projects. This position reports directly to the President of the company and will also work closely with the leadership team.

Responsibilities :
- Direct and oversee all Finance & Accounting functions of the organization, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
- Provide strategic leadership in planning and monitoring short- and long-term financial objectives, including capital planning and operational efficiencies.
- Prepare, analyze, and deliver timely budgets, financial trends, forecasts, and variance analyses to guide decision-making.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with leadership to identify financial needs, recommend solutions, and leverage business intelligence and performance tools.
- Partner with ownership and leadership to assess accounting, tax, and financial implications for all material business decisions, especially those related to real estate development, acquisitions, and investments.
- Manage financial forecasting, budgeting, consolidation, and reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the real estate debt portfolio, including compliance, reporting, and relationship management with lenders.
- Establish, implement, and refine internal processes to enhance operational efficiency and mitigate risks, particularly in property management and construction processes.
- Oversee the preparation and review of financial reports and statements.
- Act as the primary liaison with external auditors ensuring smooth processes.
- Collaborate across departments to identify opportunities for improving company performance and profitability across all real estate operations.
- Oversee tax compliance and strategy, including property tax assessments, capital gains, and other industry-specific tax considerations.
- Monitor and manage assets, including tracking, depreciation, and asset optimization.
- Ensure internal compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Negotiate construction loans for new development projects and permanent refinances for maturing loans.
- Assist real estate and development teams with in-depth due diligence on as needed basis. Prepare and outline complex models into simple terms that others can work with.
- Analyze trends to reduce financial risks associated with making investment or spending decisions
- Oversee Insurance and risk management.
- Lead, manage and hold accountable the accounting department personnel.
