The Transition Records Support Specialists manages transition records, separations, and retirements, ensuring service members receive proper documentation and benefits processing. The Transition Records Support Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless transition services for Soldiers and officers transitioning from the GAARNG. Transitioning Soldiers include enlisted and officers retiring, transferring to another military component for continued service, or discharged without any military affiliation. The Transition Records Specialist is responsible for overseeing the preparation of final records for Soldiers departing the GAARNG. This critical function demands a comprehensive approach to handling military records, focusing on accuracy, compliance, and efficient retrieval processes.

Requirements
Manage and Process Separation Orders including NGB Form 22, DD 214-1, retirement awards, RPAM corrections, and reduced-age retirements. Process records within 5 business days with 100% accuracy.
Generate and Distribute Retirement Certificates for state-level ceremonies within 5 business days of retirement approval, ensuring 100% accuracy.
Conduct Retirement Briefings during quarterly Transition Seminars, documenting sessions within 2 business days and maintaining a 95% participant satisfaction rate.
Produce and Review Final NGB 22/DD 214-1 for retiring Soldiers, ensuring quality assurance for all retirement records with 100% accuracy in final approvals.
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on retirement and transition records, providing guidance and ensuring 100% compliance with ARNG regulations and policies.
Retrieve Personnel Records Using iPERMS within 3 business days of request, maintaining 90% accuracy in document retrieval.
Collaborate with the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) and GAARNG Medical Command to provide medical and personnel records, ensuring document submission within 5 business days.
Address and Resolve Inquiries from the DVA and transitioning Soldiers within 3 business days, achieving 98% accuracy.
Support Research Programs related to Soldier records, completing research within 5 business days with 98% accuracy in findings.
Manage and Distribute Postal Items and Communications within 1 business day of receipt, ensuring 100% compliance with distribution protocols.
Retrieve Medical Records Using the HRR Database within 3 business days, ensuring 98% accuracy.
Facilitate Secure Retrieval and Distribution of medical and personnel records, ensuring all records are distributed within 3 business days in compliance with security protocols.
Submit Electronic Records via SAFE System to the DVA within 2 business days, maintaining 100% compliance with submission standards.
Update and Maintain a Records Tracker in Excel daily, ensuring 98% accuracy in data entry.
Update Supporting Documents with medical and personnel data within 3 business days of receipt, maintaining 98% accuracy.
Design and Implement Records Management Methods for collecting, analyzing, storing, retrieving, and reporting in compliance with Federal, state, and local laws within 10 business days of approval.
Conduct Monthly Inspections of Records to ensure completeness, consistency, and accuracy, reporting findings within 5 business days.
Assist in Planning and Implementing Secure Electronic Records Transmission in compliance with HIPAA within 15 business days of approval.
Ensure Compliance with HIPAA Regulations for all information release requests, completing compliance checks for 100% of requests before submission.
Perform Coordination and Administrative Support Functions, including researching, compiling data, preparing reports, and providing customer service, completing tasks within 2 business days.
